De Venecia’s 11 resolutions passed in Congress

FOR Fourth District Rep. Christopher de Venecia who’s eyeing his third and final term of office, the 18th Congress was the most productive Congress for him.

He said before the 18th Congress declared a recess on February 2, eleven resolutions that he authored were passed and approved and one of his pet bills was approved on second readying by the senate.

De Venecia, the deputy majority floor leader of the House of Representatives, was overjoyed by the approval of his resolutions that he sponsored along with House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco and members of the Arts and Culture and Creative Industries Bloc in the 18th Congress,

The approved resolutions were:

  1. Congratulating chef Johanne Sy, a Pangasinense, who earned the distinction as Female Chef of the Year in the 2021 Singapore World Gourmet Awards.
  2. Congratulating the Cordillera Science High School that won two gold medals in the 8th Bali International Choir Festival in Indonesia;
  3. Congratulating the recipients of the 13 Artist Awards at the Cultural Center of the Philippines;
  4. Congratulating the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra that won the gold in the 2021 Vienna Music Festival;
  5. Giving support to architects and designers shortlisted in the World Architect Festival  2021 and in the World Festival of Interior Designs 2021;
  6. Congratulating the Gigil Ad Agency for winning the bronze in the 2021 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity.

The seventh up to 11th resolutions expressed sincerest condolences to the demise of the nation’s pillars of creative industries like F. Sionil Jose, national artist fin literature, who was a native of Rosales, Pangasinan.

Passed into law earlier was the Edades-Bernal Museum of Dagupan City and the Creative Industries Bill which was passed on second reading in the Senate. (Leonardo Micua)
