PCSO awards P5.8-M worth of food packs, medicines & medical devices to P’sinan

THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) handed over P5.8-million worth of food packs, medicines, and medical supplies to the Province of Pangasinan on November 19.

PCSO Vice-Chairperson and General Manager Royina Marzan Garma along with Governor Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III and League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)-Pangasinan chapter President Leopoldo N. Bataoil led the turn-over of the PCSO donations at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) Gymnasium.

Among the donated products were 4,000 food packs, medicines and medical supplies, which include: surgical mask (625 boxes), alcohol (255 gallons), BP apparatus with stethoscope (10), BP apparatus (85 pieces) pulse oximeter (86 pieces), first aid responder kit (9 pieces), examination gloves (10 boxes), surgical gloves (50 boxes) digital blood pressure apparatus (11 pieces),  oxygen tank with regulator (2 pieces), oxygen tank (5 pieces), oxygen regulator (5 pieces) cold packs, emergency deliver kit (OB-Gyne set), emergency blanket, surgical scissor, face shield (400 pieces), wheelchair (85 pieces), thermal scanner (27 pieces), syringes (150 boxes), kidney basin (10 pieces), suction machine (10 pieces), stethoscope (45 pieces), oxygen gauge (50 pieces), spine board, glucometer (6 pieces), nebulizer (20 pieces) and others.

Recipients of the donation are, as follows: Asingan Police Station, Pozorrubio Police Station, Agno Police Station, Asingan Fire Station, Provincial Health Office, LGU-Villasis, LGU-Binmaley, LGU-Asingan, LGU-Lingayen, LGU-Infanta, LGU-Aguilar, LGU-Urbiztondo, LGU-Natividad, LGU-San Jacinto, LGU-Sison, LGU-Dasol, LGU-Burgos, LGU-Sual, LGU-Santa Maria, LGU-Bautista, LGU-Agno, LGU-Laoac, LGU-Labrador, LGU-Tayug, LGU-Calasiao, LGU-Urdaneta City, San Manuel Municipal Health Center, San Manuel MSWD,  Cabacaran Elementary School, Barangay Cabacaran (San Manuel), at Barangay Poblacion West (Asingan).

The PCSO Chief stated that the set of donations, which were based on subsequent requests of LGUs, forms part of the corporate social responsibility of the PCSO to augment programs of local government units and agencies.

“Aside from this, meron kaming mandatory na binibigay twice a year sa mga LGUs na gamot. That is P100,000-worth of medicines and vitamins every year,” said Ms. Garma.

The PCSO top executive commended the provincial government led by Gov. Pogi for supporting the products of PSCO, such as PCSO lottery which serves as an avenue to generate funds for charity works of the office.

“Napakalaking tulong na aming laro sa Pangasinan ay lubos na tinatanggap ng hinid lang mga constituents at mayor kundi ng liderato. Ang ama ng probinsya ay tinatanggap ang aming laro,” said Ms. Garma.

The PCSO vice-chairperson and general manager also assured that LGU-Pangasinan will get its due share from PCSO lottery games.

Governor Pogi expressed his gratitude to the PCSO for extending support to Pangasinan that will greatly benefit Pangasinenses in need.

“Kami po ay nagpapasalamat dahil ‘yung pagtangkilik natin sa PCSO ay binabalik din nila sa ating mga kababayan at ito po ay nakikita natin tulad ngayon,” Gov. Pogi stated.

“I will make sure na ito pong ibinigay ninyo ay tatapatan po naming para madoble ang maibigay sa ating mga kababayan,” vowed Gov. Pogi as he exhorted local chief executives and other recipients to maximize the support of the PCSO and bring the donations to the needy.

Also present during the brief awarding ceremony were: PCSO NCL Department OIC-Manager Maria Lourdes S. Soliman, PCSO Pangasinan Branch OIC-Asst. Manager Divinia D. Austria, some local chief executives in the province, Pangasinan Provincial Police Acting Provincial Director Richmond Laranang Tadina, and Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba. /SMDG
