This was stated by Governor Amado I. Espino III as he led the team of the Provincial Government in staging the Abig Pangasinan Karaban in Barangay San Blas, Villasis on August 12.

Governor Espino assured that the Provincial Government will continue to deliver services that will sustain the lives of Pangasinenses especially during the pandemic.

Makikita ninyong tuloy-tuloy ang aming trabaho,” said the Governor.

Led by Governor Espino, the Abig Pangasinan Karaban brought the services to support the needs of Pangasinenses as well as stir economic activities in the province.

Board Member Nestor “Nikiboy” Reyes highlighted that the efforts of Governor Espino to personally lead the Abig Pangasinan is a manifestation of the Governor’s love and service to Pangasinan.

Some of the services brought were: Abig Laman ed Barangay, Food Production Support Program, Kalinisan Karaban, Kabuhayan Palengke Karaban, and Karagdagang Pangkabuhayan.

A total of 680 medical consultations, 56 chest x-rays, 339 laboratory services, 66 ECG tests, and 38 skin diseases consultations were catered by the Abig Laman ed Barangay Kalusugan Karaban. Free medicines and vitamins were also provided to the residents.

Around 1,300 Fruit bearing tree seedlings, 10,000 tilapia fingerlings, 56 trays farm ready vegetable seedlings, 10 water pumps, and 12 knapsack sprayers were bestowed among farmer and fisherfolk associations through the food production support program.

Under the Kalinisan Karaban, a total of 401.5 kilos of plastic wastes were exchanged for P8,026 worth of grocery items.

Thirty-two local vendors were assisted by the Kabuhayan Palengke Karaban where P108,164 worth of local products such as meat and vegetables were bought by the Provincial Government. These products are then brought to the 14 government-run hospitals to be served as food for patients and frontliners.

Fifteen members of vulnerable sectors from Barangay San Blas also received their P400 cash pay-out for the Karagdagang Pangkabuhayan or Cash-for-Work program in exchange for their assistance during the Karaban.

Governor Espino thanked the local leaders and Pangasinenses for their unity and unceasing support to the programs of the Provincial Government.

Villasis Mayor Nonato Abrenica, Former Board Member Clemente “Nińo” Arboleda, and Barangay San Blas Chairman Marlon Olivar, some Provincial Government department heads, and Barangay and SK officials of the eight participating clustered barangays (San Blas, Lomboy, Lipay, Zone 1, Caramutan, San Nicolas, Puelay, and Pias) were also present during program. /PJES
