P’sinan adjudged National Kabalikat Awardee by TESDA

THE Province of Pangasinan under the leadership of Governor Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III continues to raise the bar of excellence made evident by numerous recognitions conferred by various awarding bodies.

The recent feat among others is the National Kabalikat Awards awarded to Governor Pogi by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Director Vincent Atienza Cifra and TESDA Provincial Director Jimmicio S. Daoaten during a brief meeting at the Provincial Capitol on August 16.

Joining Governor Pogi in receiving the plaque of award were: Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba and Pangasinan Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) Manager Alex F. Ferrer.

The Province of Pangasinan, being a Kabalikat National Awardee under the LGU Partner Category, was recognized for “its exemplified contribution in the advancement of Technical Vocational and Education Training (TVET) in the country.”

It can be learned that the province was earlier adjudged as the regional winner of the Kabalikat Award before elevating as the national nominee for the said award.

In an interview, TESDA Regional Dir. Cifra lauded the strong support of the provincial government led by Gov. Pogi in the promotion and implementation of TVET in the province and in the whole region.

“We have seen and we have felt the strong support of the local government unit of Pangasinan in all different aspects of support that we need, “Cifra said referring to all forms of assistance provided by the province, such as personnel support, facility support, curriculum development support, and industry feedbacking support.

The TESDA regional director also remarked that indeed, Pangasinan deserves the national award.

“We have scrutinized this to the national level and we have found out that the Province of Pangasinan really deserves to be given the National Kabalikat Award,” Dir. Cifra further stated.

Regional Dir. Cifra also added: “We are hoping for a more fruitful and more harmonious partnership for the people of Pangasinan under vocational education.”

Gov. Pogi, on the other hand, expressed his gratitude to TESDA for recognizing the efforts of the province that are all aimed in uplifting the lives of every Pangasinense.

“Please extend our gratitude to TESDA Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña,” Gov. Pogi told Dir. Cifra.

Vowing constant support to TVET programs, Gov. Pogi also disclosed the provincial government will establish a training-dormitory for TESDA in the soon-to-rise Pangasinan Arena and Event Center situated in Bugallon.

It was also noted that TESDA has earmarked P20-million for the implementation of “Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program” in the province of Pangasinan that can boost skills training programs of the provincial government such as Mobile Skills Training Project.

Pangasinan PESO Manager Ferrer also disclosed that MSTP played a big role as the province bagged its first national Kabalikat Awards in addition to its huge investments in TVET.

On the other note, Pangasinan Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) was also adjudged regional winner of the 2020 Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Awards under 1st Class Province Category of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

The Bayanihan Service Awards recognizes the efforts and programs of the provincial government in helping Pangasinenses cope with COVID-19 through Abig Pangasinan Karaban that includes MSTP, Basic Handyman Training, Tulong Sundo sa OFW Project, Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa OFW Project and regular recruitment activities all organized by the Pangasinan PESO.

In this regard, Pangasinan will advance as the regional nominee under provincial category in the national search of the 2020 Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Awards which will conclude in September this year. /Shiella Mae C. De Guzman
