Hideous 2025 election agenda

THE Red flag is up! The 2025 Midterm elections is not going to be just like any other in the past. What it is, and how it will end will be a test of our individual and community moral character.

It will not be a mere election of another set for a three-year term of local (local government branch to congressional seats) and six-year term for senators. Right before our eyes is a well-laid out hideous plan by the Marcos administration that will be achieved by the unsuspecting ‘masa’ vote.

  1. It needs senators that will blindly follow its dictate to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte after surrendering the former President Rodrigo Duterte to the ICC.
  2. The party-list system has been bastardized to support the dreaded money-making machinery of political dynasties in the country. Many incumbent and would-be senators and congressmen already have at least one party-list to their names, i.e., the Tulfos lined up five party-lists; Speaker Martin Romualdez has the Tingog, Senators Lito Lapid and Bong Revialla have ‘Pinuno’ and ‘Agimat; respectively. The Makabayan and Akbayan bloc has seven party lists from which it will raise funds to promote the CPP-NPA-NDF’s political agenda. (One party-list will be paid minimum P200-M monthly plus pork barrel for each nominee, like what a congressman gets).
  3. Support of local politics is assured with the Comelec-approved vote-buying with public funds, i.e., AKAP, ACIS, TUPAD, etc.
  4. The senate is threatened with the entry of TV-movie-sports personalities with neither the legal background nor capacity to understand the parameters of legislation, i.e., Erwin and Ben Tulfo brothers, Willie Revillame, Philip Salvador, Manny Pacquiao in addition to Robin Padilla, Lito Lapid and Bong Revilla.
  5. In Pangasinan, we are seeing the Guico political dynasty extending its tight grip hold in the Fifth District with Urdaneta City as its next political base.
  6. In Dagupan City, like in other cities, the Lim-Fernandez party is threatening a comeback to wreak more havoc in the city at the expense of their constituents.

All these have been projected to materialize with the ‘masa’ vote that political opportunists believe they can still manipulate via social media.

In this regard, these diabolical political designs can only be thwarted by the individual and collective efforts of the discerning among the electorate to influence and engage others to preserve the moral values of good governance and patriotism by explaining the implications of these possible outcomes.

For, indeed, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
