Take a bow, Pangasinan

The Private Schools Athletics Association (PRISAA) games end today, Sunday, following a  week-long sports competition among some 3, 495 athletes from private schools in the country’s 16 regions.

Pangasinenses hope that both victors and the vanquished, with their medals and pains, shall long remember the not only how the games were played but how the province toasted and celebrated them for their awesome demonstration of talent and discipline. For the Pangasinenses, PRISAA was more than an opportunity to forge new acquaintances and bonding with visiting athletes and school officials, it was an opportunity to make these beautiful memories possible.

For the organizers, hosting the national games was certainly a feat they can truly be proud of.   It was a rare yet successful occasion for both government and the private sectors to showcase what true collaboration and cooperation can bring for the province. Because of their efforts, the goodwill generated by the successful hosting will augur well for the development of the province’s private educational sector in the decade ahead. For this, the province must extend its salutation and gratitude to our own Dr. Gonzalo Duque, national PRISAA president, whose leadership enabled organizers to put together an almost seamless hosting thoroughly enjoyed by both visitors and residents.

At the same time, the private schools sector in the province must acknowledge the support not only of the provincial government but officialdom of cities of Dagupan and Alaminos, the towns of Lingayen,   Binmaley and San Carlos City, and the CSI management. Without their support, the hosting would have been one bundle of nightmare. They represented the ideals and the spirit of true partnership for the glory of Pangasinan.

While  future hosting of PRISAA will be equal or better than Pangasinan’s, we share the confidence of the organizers that  ll  the athletes and the school officials who came to experience Pangasinan’s life and culture returned to their respective regions with fond memories of their new friends in Pangasinan.

To Dr. Duque, Gov. Agbayani, Mayors Benjamin Lim, Ernesto Castañeda, Simplicio Rosario, Julian Resullo and Hernani Braganza  and Ms.  Belen Fernandez, take a bow while the province takes its turn to toast you.
