TOURIST arrivals in the town of San Nicolas more than doubled in 2025, according to data from the Municipal Tourism Office.

Records showed that 186,628 visitors were recorded at various tourist destinations in the town in 2025, a 106 percent increase compared to the 90,726 tourist arrivals logged in 2024.

Data showed that Malico, also known as the “Barangay Summer Capital of Pangasinan,” remained the most visited destination, recording 97,932 tourist arrivals during the year.

Other destinations, including Agpay Eco Park and Puyao Picnic Grounds, also posted all-time high visitor numbers, particularly during peak periods such as Holy Week.

Local officials attributed the increase in tourist arrivals to a combination of wider exposure through social media, word-of-mouth promotion, and improvements in tourism-related facilities.

The Municipal Tourism Office said it continues to monitor visitor trends as the town assesses the impact of increased tourist activity on local infrastructure and services. (Ahikam Pasion)
