Mangaldan to update local taxes, fees
THE Mangaldan local government has begun a comprehensive review of its existing taxes, fees, and penalties in a move to update its Local Revenue Code, which was last revised in 2017.
Mayor Bona Fe De Vera Parayno has prioritized the update as a key fiscal strategy to increase the municipality’s income and sustain high-impact projects.
The reassessment is spearheaded by Municipal Administrator Atty. Teodora Cerdan, through a technical working group in cooperation with the Local Finance Committee.
Among the members are Secretary to the Sangguniang Bayan Juan Aquino, Municipal Treasurer Marilou Gavino, Budget Officer Julieta Petonio, Accountant Josie Bulatao, and Planning and Development Coordinator Milagros J. Padilla.
The working group aims to finalize the proposed revisions before the end of the year. Once completed, the draft will be endorsed to the Sangguniang Bayan and forwarded to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for approval.
If passed, the Updated Local Revenue Code is expected to take effect in 2026. (Ahikam Pasion)
