A total of 3,703 packs of hybrid rice seeds were distributed on September 9 to over 680 qualified farmers in the municipality of San Nicolas, which will be planted during the coming dry season.

The Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), headed by Engr. Christopher Serquina, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA), said the seeds include high-quality rice varieties, including SL20H and Syngenta.

“In addition to the hybrid rice seeds, we are also distributing fertilizer vouchers and more seed varieties through the DA and LGU San Nicolas,” said Councilor Jun Serquina, chair of the Agriculture Committee.

The collaboration is part of a larger effort to ensure that San Nicolas’ farmers are equipped with the resources needed for successful harvests, with the long-term aim of strengthening food security and sustainable agriculture in the region. (Ahikam Pasion)
