New Bayambang Central Terminal and Bagsakan Market opens
THE Bayambang Central Terminal and Bagsakan Market was inaugurated on August 25, 2025, marking a milestone in the town’s efforts to modernize its transportation system and boost local commerce.
The modern facility, located beside the Pangasinan State University (PSU)–Bayambang Campus, is seen as a significant step in strengthening economic growth and improving public service for residents and travelers alike.
Dr. Cezar T. Quiambao, representing Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao in his capacity as special assistant to the mayor’s office, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, joined by members of the Sangguniang Bayan, local government department heads, and municipal employees.
“This terminal and bagsakan market are not just facilities, but symbols of progress. They will provide safe, orderly, and comfortable services for commuters and consumers, while also creating opportunities for more jobs and businesses,” Mr. Quiambao said.
The project is a partnership between the municipal government and the PSU headed by University President Dr. Elbert Galas.
Following the ceremony, the local government conducted an open forum with vendors to discuss policies and address concerns. Among the agreements reached were operating hours from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and a P60 fee per lot for stalls. (Eva Visperas)
