Crackdown on Manaoag poultry farms to continue

By September 14, 2025Business

MANAOAG Mayor Jeremy Rosario said he will not hesitate to permanently close poultry farms that continue to violate sanitary standards, especially those causing an increase in fly infestations.

Rosario made this warning during the Monday flag-raising ceremony on September 8, where he called on poultry owners to adhere to the rules to avoid the temporary suspension of their operations.

The mayor cited the case of a poultry farm in Barangay Inamotan, which had its operations temporarily suspended after two to three inspections, and still failed to improve its sanitation practices and system.

He clarified that the local government can only issue a temporary suspension at this time. However, permanent closure could be considered if poultry farms continue to disregard the sanitation requirements.

Communities around errant poultry farms have been complaining and posting videos and pictures online of massive fly infestations. (Ahikam Pasion)
