A Tourist Rest Area (TRA) is about to open at the Capitol beachfront in Lingayen, which will have essential amenities like clean restrooms, a comfortable lounge, phone charging stations, a lactation room, and an information hub – all designed to enhance the overall travel experience of local and international visitors.

The TRA, being set up across the country, is a joint project of the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).

Maria Luisa A. Elduayan, head of the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, said the new facility will improve convenience for tourists and benefit local businesses, transport operators, and other tourism stakeholders.

Gov. Ramon Guico III and Vice Governor Mark Ronald DG Lambino expressed gratitude to the DOT and TIEZA for the realization of the TRA that will be turned over to the provincial government’s management upon completion.

The DOT said the rollout of TRAs nationwide is part of a broader initiative of the national government to enhance infrastructure and services, paving the way for the country to become a leading tourism destination of choice in Asia. (PIMRO)
