DECORP assures stable supply despite rainy season, oil price changes
CUSTOMERS of the Dagupan Electric Corporation (DECORP) were reassured that the corporation’s electricity supply remains stable and that demand is expected to be lower given the prevailing cooler temperatures.
In an interview, DECORP Spokesperson Randy Castillan, however, clarified said potential issues could arise if transmission lines or distribution systems are damaged by storms, which could temporarily disrupt service, including recent fluctuations in global oil prices, would not impact electricity costs for consumers.
In June, the generation charge decreased by 23 centavos, and the company pointed out that it sources electricity from a variety of renewable and alternative sources, such as geothermal and solar-power plants, in addition to coal-fired power plants. (Ahikam Pasion)
