THE Department of Health–Ilocos Region (DOH-R1) provided health care services to 3,000 beneficiaries in Pangasinan during the “Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan Sa Bagong Pilipinas” held at the Dagupan City Astrodome on April 25.

The event, a government-led job fair being held across the country, is tied up with other social services such as medical care and subsidized goods.

“Kapag healthy ka, mas focus ka sa lahat ng gagawin mo at makakapagtrabaho ka ng maayos, and will also lead to improved job performance and better mental and emotional health,” DOH Regional Director Paula Sydiongco.

Among the medical services provided were X-ray for TB, oral health, screening for hypertension, cholesterol and diabetes management, laboratory services, HIV screening, syphilis testing and hearing test.

The DOH regional office also distributed free wheelchairs, 10 for pedia and 10 for adult, to identified beneficiaries from the TUPAD and 4P’s programs under the Department of Social Welfare and Development. (DOH-R1/CMU)
