Anda, Bolinao still positive for red tide
THE waters of Anda and Bolinao remained positive for paralytic shellfish poisoning, according to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
This was contained in Shellfish Bulletin No. 12, Series of 2025 dated May 20 signed by BFAR National Director Elizer Salilig.
All types of shellfish and acetes sp or alamang gathered in the waters of these two towns are not safe for human consumption.
Fish in the area may be eaten, provided these are fresh and washed thoroughly and their internal organs, such as gills and intestines, are removed before cooking.
With the advisory, local governments are called to implement a ban on the gathering, transporting, marketing and consumption of shellfish coming from these two Pangasinan coastal towns.
Other nearby coastal areas such as Infanta, Alaminos City, Saul, Wawa, and Bani continue to be free from red tide toxins. (Leonardo Micua)
