BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS UP BY 7%

THE central part of Pangasinan remains the province’s economic core, with 26,666 more business establishments and activities registered in 2024 from 24,902 in 2023 or a seven percent increase, based on data from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Urdaneta City, which is traversed by the national highway and considered the melting pot of business in eastern Pangasinan but still close to the central area, had the highest number of DTI-registered businesses at 2,008, followed by Dagupan City with 1.789, and San Carlos City with 1,417.

Urdaneta is categorized a first class city while Dagupan and San Carlos are second class cities.

Mangaldan and Calasiao, both neighboring towns of Dagupan, ranked 4th and 5th with 1,299 and 1,237 registered businesses, respectively.

The two municipalities had overtaken Alaminos City, which had 1,027 registered businesses.

Rosales, where SM Center Rosales is located, trailed with 927 businesses, followed by Malasiqui, 855; Sta. Barbara, 838; Lingayen, 776; Bayambang, 759; Tayug, 685; Binmaley, 678; and Bolinao, 6.
