Rice drops to P35-P45 in public markets
HOUSEHOLDS can now buy rice in markets across Pangasinan at P35 to P45 per kilo as prices dropped following abundant supply with the start of the harvest season, according to the National Food Authority (NFA).
Sellers are giving a further P250 discount for a 50-kilo sack.
The current rice prices are expected to continue until this week.
The buying price of palay or unhusked rice has also declined, and the NFA stepped up procurement from local farmers to increase the buffer stock in the province.
The agency is counting on the continued cooperation of farmers in supplying them with palay to ensure a stable food supply in the region. (Ahikam Pasion)
