Capitol equips farmers, women with entrepreneurial skills
THE provincial government launched several programs last year to enhance the agricultural sector by improving the skills of farmers and women and providing marketing support.
Provincial Agriculturist Dalisay Moya said her office’s Agri-business division conducted skills training on crops and fishery production, food processing, package and technologies, and institutional and entrepreneurial training to become their source of livelihood and will help starting would-be entrepreneurs develop more of their products.
The trainings for 155 members of women associations from different municipalities and another 390 women from various rural-based organizations in the province were on food processing.
Farmers were also provided trainings in management and marketing skills to help prepare them become successful agri-entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, the province’s Kadiwa na Kapitolyo project provides regular marketing support to various agricultural products of local farmer-entrepreneurs.
