SP endorses 2 solar farm projects in Infanta
THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) endorsed two new solar farm projects in Infanta town during its regular session on Monday in a resolution with no objection.
Vice Governor Mark Lambino, who led the session, explained that the projects will be located in the First District, expanding on previous solar farm initiatives in the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th Districts.
“These projects tap into Pangasinan’s natural asset — abundant sunlight, which is perfect for solar energy generation,” Lambino noted, referencing the province’s name derived from “asin” (salt), linking it to the importance of sunlight in both agriculture and energy production.
“These are going to be two separate corporations, two separate solar farms, each producing at least 100 megawatts of power,” he said, namely:
:Provincial Resolution No. 2999-2024: Endorsing Tera Renewables 3 Corporation’s solar farm in Batang, Bayambang, and Bamban, Infanta.
:Provincial Resolution No. 3000-2024: Endorsing Tera Renewables 4 Corporation’s solar farm in Bayambang, Infanta.
The proponents of both projects are subsidiaries of Clean Tech Global Renewables Inc. (CTGRI), a Philippine independent power producer and renewable energy developer.
The proposed sites have already been reclassified for utility use, with the necessary clearances from the Department of Agrarian Reform and the Department of Agriculture. (Eva Visperas)
