THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in Region 1 is actively engaging with the transport sector for the distribution of financial assistance to drivers impacted by rising fuel prices.

In an interview, LTFRB R1 Director Atty. Annabel Nullar said they have already started contacting validated beneficiaries while verification is still ongoing for other potential recipients.

Distribution of the subsidy cards will be done through banks.

Traditional jeepney operators will receive a fuel subsidy of ₱6,500, while transport service entities and modernized jeepney operators will receive ₱10,000 each.

No definite number of beneficiaries per province have been specified pending the full validation process.

This announcement comes on the heels of a new oil price hike implemented by oil companies on Tuesday, November 26. (Ahikam Pasion)
