Price freeze of basic goods in effect in Dagupan City
THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of Pangasinan issued a reminder to all business establishments in Dagupan City to comply with the price freeze on basic necessities following the declaration of a state of calamity on October 25.
City Council Resolution No. 8174-2024 mandates a 60-day price freeze on all basic goods within the city, according to Natalia Dalaten, provincial director of DTI-Pangasinan.
DTI will conduct monitoring activities and violators could face legal action.
She urged all business establishments as well as consumers to support the price control measure and warned against hoarding essential goods or reselling items, including medical supplies, at prices above those set by the DTI.

Violations of price ceilings may result in one to 10 years of imprisonment, fines of P5,000 to P1 million, or both, depending on the court’s discretion. (Ahikam Pasion)
