Sual LGU cited in national award for fiscal excellence
SUAL Mayor Liseldo Calugay will receive on October 9 an award for his local government’s “outstanding financial performance” from the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF).
The municipality ranked 3rd in the category ‘Local Sourced Revenue to Total Current Operating Income for FY 2023’ among all towns in the country.
A letter from BLGF Executive Director Consolacion Agcaoili stated that the award acknowledges top-performing provinces, cities, and municipalities for their contributions to economic development and sustainability. It emphasized the “remarkable fiscal and financial achievements” of local government units, underscoring their commitment and effectiveness in revenue generation and resource mobilization.
The letter also confirmed that Sual has excelled in key performance indicators, specifically its impressive ranking in local sourced revenue.
Calugay and Municipal Treasurer Diana Tabar will receive the award during the BLGF’s 37th Anniversary: Stakeholders Recognition on October 9.
Sual hosts the Sual Power Station, the largest and most cost-effective coal-fired power station in the country with a generating capacity of 1,200 MW. (Eva Visperas)
