DTI, Google provide free digital training to equip workforce
THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has partnered with Google to provide free digital training and re-skilling initiatives to create new pathways for Filipinos to get high-paying jobs.
DTI-Pangasinan Provincial Director Natalia Dalaten said the free training’s goal is to boost e-commerce by providing digital training and opportunities for people to learn new skill to create a workforce that is skilled in technology, ready for jobs, and has an advantage in the industry.
She said the Google Career Certification is a self-paced arrangement so learners can study anywhere and anytime because courses under the program typically take three to six months to complete or approximately 120 hours at 10 hours per week.
She said aspiring participants to this program must be 18 years old and above, Filipino residents, committed to completing the course within the specified timeframe, and preferably possess a gadget with access to the internet.
The program targets micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) owners aiming to digitize their businesses and/or their employees or staff, as well as women, out-of-school youth, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and those who are unemployed or underemployed.
The program can be accessed through this link: https://tinyurl.com/5bn67abf, is open to 500 Pangasinenses who have until December of this year to complete the courses they enroll in.
“As of writing, at least 269 learners have joined the program and 231 slots are still open for enrollees who can fill out an interest form through https://bit.ly/2024GCC-InterestForm. (PIA Pangasinan/EMSA)
