DOST to provide P8.4 million ‘Innovation Fund’ to 11 MSMEs

THE Department of Science and Technology Regional Office I is set to grant more than P8.4 million worth of “Innovation Fund” to 11 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pangasinan under the agency’s Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program.

DOST said the fund seeks to provide small-scale businesses with financial aid, regulatory reforms, skills development, and market access to improve their operations.

Beneficiaries of the program include Unicolor Printing Press and De Roxas Poultry Farm in Villasis that will receive P2 million and P1,212,360, respectively; Toning Digital Printing of Urdaneta City that will get P1,624,00 and Rillera Farm of Bolinao will get P1,485,00.

Pangasinan Auto Care in Dagupan City, P630,000; Garcia’s Printing Services in Bugallon, P500,995; Arcel Herbal Trading and Manufacturing and ALVZ Digital Printing Services in San Manuel, P271,693 and P255,000, respectively; Cacao Growers and Marketing Cooperative in Pozorrubio, P226,800; AZ Project in Binmaley, P160,000 and Jhenry Mushroom Farm in Mangaldan, P65,000.

Jennifer Fernandez, science research specialist II of DOST-Pangasinan, said they will closely monitor the progress of the funded projects to optimize its benefits to the local economy and business environment. (Kim Gealogo)
