Busted water line affects 1,000 households, establishments
SOME 1,000 households and establishments in six barangays of Dagupan were rendered waterless for 12 hours when an excavator accidentally hit a water transmission line at the corner of A.B. Fernandez Avenue and Nable Street at about 4:00 pm on Tuesday, June 25.
Rendered waterless were homes and establishments in Barangays Pantal, Herrero- Perez, Barangay 1, Barangay 2 and 3, Barangay IV and Poblacion Oeste.
The water that flowed out from the busted water transmission line moved towards Nable Street but it did not cause any flooding.
Pamana had to shut down water supply for a large part of Dagupan to facilitate the repair of the damaged water transmission line. Repair work was completed at 4:00 a.m. and normal water supply to all Pamana water subscribers resumed one hour later.
It was the fourth incident that water transmission line was damaged by the excavator deployed by contractors of the Department of Public Works and Highways for projects being constructed in Dagupan. (Leonardo Micua)
