SOME 1,000 residents of Urbiztondo were beneficiaries of the “Cash for Work” Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Urbiztondo municipal government led by Mayor Modesto Operania.

The beneficiaries, chosen from among the indigent families in the town, were given 45 to 90 days short-term employment in community-based projects, particularly in garbage collection, cutting of wild grass and in soil conservation starting April 1 in Barangay Bayaoas. For their work, they were paid wages from  P312 to P370 per day.
