THE Manaoag local government, headed by Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario, assured help to owners of 10 stalls in front of the Our Lady of Manaoag Church that were razed to the ground during a late evening blaze Thursday night, February 15.

Options are being considered how the burned stalls that sell religious articles and souvenirs can be as assisted to revive their business.

Rosario, however,  clarified that while there were many stalls affected, only 10 stalls were registered with the local government.

The mayor said a lesson can be learned from the incident: that a sandbox should be placed in commercial areas to immediately help extinguish fires.

Rosario said the stalls were close to each other and were made of light materials that made the fire spread easily.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Manaoag reported that faulty electrical wiring was the cause of the Thursday fire and estimated P1 million in damages. (Ahikam Pasion)
