Irrigators Associations in 4th District receive water pumps
THIRTY-SEVEN Irrigators Associations (IAS) in the Fourth District received 61 water pumps for their use from Rep. Christopher de Venecia on February 9.
De Venecia, together with his mom, former Rep. Gina de Venecia, National Irrigation Administration-Pangasinan Acting Division Manager Engr. John Molano and Agno-Sinocalan Chief Engr. Cipriano Yabut, led the distribution of these farm equipment.
De Venecia assured the farmers in the district that have perennial short supply of water of his continuous support to strengthen the agricultural sector.
He said soon farmers must start using solar irrigation pumps for a more effective way of farming. “ It’s time to pursue new solutions to help farmers,” he added.
A House bill he championed, Young Farmers’ Bill,” is awaiting a counterpart bill in the Senate.
Meanwhile, Molano advised the beneficiaries to ensure that those who need the pumps the most are given priority over its use. (Eva Visperas)
