GALVAN, ZAMORA STREETS REOPENED

THE street bazaar or baratillo and food strip set up on Galvan and Zamora Streets for the Dagupan City Fiesta in December were dismantled starting January 31 at the end of their contract with the Dagupan City government.

Both the street bazaar and food strip thrived in the city since November 15 last year, patronized daily by throngs of visitors that flocked to the city during its fiesta that coincided with the Christmas holiday.

On the last day of the baratillo on January 30, the owners of the stalls held a grand discount sale of their items and these were mobbed by last-minute shoppers who snapped clothes, footwears, bags and other sundry items with huge discounts.

After the vacated areas were cleared and cleaned by the anti-littering team of the Mayor’s office both Galvan and Zamora Street were immediately reopened as access road for east-bound vehicles, and soon for Bonuan-bound vehicles. (Leonardo Micua)
