SP backs inventory of Capitol’s properties
THE provincial board passed a resolution supporting the inventory of all real properties owned and leased out by the provincial government of Pangasinan such as, but not limited to, infrastructures and other facilities.
Provincial Resolution No. 81-2024 authored by Vice Gov. Mark Ronald Lambino passed on January 15, cited Sec. 524 of R.A. 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, which provides that each local government unit shall conduct a periodic inventory of infrastructure and other community facilities and undertake the maintenance, repair, improvement, or reconstruction of these facilities through a closer cooperation among the various agencies of the National Government operating within the province, city, or municipality concerned.
Lambino’s resolution acknowledged the need to conduct the inventory of real properties owned by the provincial government to utilize and maximize the potentials of all real properties of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan suitable for future improvement for the integration of financial management and business operations in the province, to spearhead the growth of infrastructure and to increase the revenue of the Province of Pangasinan”.
It also said that the existence of an inventory of real properties owned and leased out by the provincial government of Pangasinan marks the beginning of extensive reform since the inventory list of real properties will provide the address, legal description and history of each property and specify the current status of the property which shall be made publicly available to encourage potential investors for economic development.
He said that there are some that are not officially submitted or listed in the provincial government’s list of assets. (Eva Visperas)
