DA boosts corporate farming in Bayambang
THE Department of Agriculture’s initiative in corporate farming was introduced through a pilot program in Barangay Bani, Bayambang last January 11.
The program was organized by the town’s Municipal Agriculture Office in collaboration with the Office of Provincial Agriculture (OPAg).
New farming technologies were proposed by the Agriculture Office in order to boost corn production in 20 hectares of cornfields in Barangay Bani, farmed by 22 associations of local farmers.
These include the use of chemical pesticides and the practice of utilizing biological control agents to lessen pest devastation. (Kim Gealogo)
