Price of rice in Pangasinan remains high
THE price of rice in the markets of Pangasinan remains high despite the harvest season that started last week of November and about to end.
Presently, the lowest price of well-milled rice is from P47 to P48 per kilo and the highest is P50 per kilo but households are showing preference for the cheapest rice in the market – P45 per kilo which is lower in quality. The choice is also influenced by the soaring price of pork that rose by P10 to P20 per kilo. (Rona Racca)

THE price of eggs in the markets of Dagupan City remains high, at P8 – P9 per piece and the price is seen to go higher a week before Christmas. This development is encouraging consumers to start buying eggs from retailers by the kilo, instead of by the usual per piece basis.

Ten percent of traditional jeepneys still not consolidated
SOME 200 owners of traditional jeepneys in Pangasinan still have not consolidated into cooperatives or corporations to meet the December 31, 2023 deadline set by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). LTFRB earlier said those who availed of consolidation will not be phased out provided they meet the standard of road worthiness set by the Land Transportation Office.
Those who fail to consolidate after the deadline will not be allowed to renew their registration with LTO.. However, despite LTFRB’s assurance jeepney owners suspect the agency will continue to insist that they modernize. (Rona Racca)
