Still no price increase on basic goods – DTI

By October 7, 2023Business

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assured the public that prices of essential commodities will remain until the end of 2023.

DTI-Pangasinan Chief for Consumer Protection, Guillermo Avelino Jr., said DTI Sec. Alfredo Pascual’s discussions with goods manufacturers led to a general consensus to keep current prices until end of 2023 after six manufacturers submitted petitions seeking price adjustments, citing increased raw material costs, freight expenses, and other overheads.

Those that agreed are manufacturers of bottled water, bread, salt, sardines, toilet soaps, and condiments.

Avelino encouraged the public to report any vendor or businesses found overcharging or violating the suggested retail prices (SRP) through DTI-Pangasinan’s Facebook Page or visit their office on Arellano Street, Barangay Pantal, Dagupan City. Avelino assured the public that their concerns and grievances would be duly addressed. (Ahikam Pasion)
