FIVE TOWNS, ONE CITY

PANGASINAN already has five towns and one city declared as African Swine Fever (ASF) Red Zones.

This information was based on data from the National ASF Prevention and Control Program (NASFPCP) covering the period from August 22 to October 4 of the current year.

The following areas have been declared under the Red Zone according to the Amended National ASF Zoning and Movement Plan: Mangatarem, Sual, Alaminos City, Anda, Bolinao, Urbiztondo.

In Red Infected Zones, there were confirmed ASF cases reported in the past 90 days.

Under the Pink Zone, 16 towns and cities are categorized as a Buffer Zone: Agno, Aguilar, Asingan, Bani, Basista, Bayambang, Bugallon, Calasiao, Dagupan City, Labrador, Lingayen, Mabini, San Carlos City, Santa Barbara, Tayug and Laoac.

Pink Zones include cities or municipalities adjacent to infected zones that have not reported new ASF cases.

Areas under the Yellow or Surveillance Zones are considered high-risk areas due to the dense population of swine and the volume of pig and pork trade.

These designations are based on the ASF status and surveillance activities in these areas, indicating the level of risk associated with the spread of the disease. (Ahikam Pasion)
