BFAR I distributes 275,000 fish fry
THE Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Region I distributed a total of 275,000 tilapia and carp fry to 10 towns in Pangasinan on October 10.
Selected as beneficiaries were Balungao, Alcala, Bautista, San Manuel, Sison, Bayambang, Malasiqui, San Jacinto, Mabini, and Aguilar. The distribution of fish fry is part of BFAR Region 1’s ongoing efforts to assist local fisherfolks.

San Carlos City launches socmed program for biz
SAN CARLOS City Information Jhuliano Resuello, launched a social media program to help local business owners expand their operations. The program, called “NEGOSYO SAN CARLOS!” is an official Facebook page where local entrepreneurs and businessmen can showcase their establishments’ functions and services through picture and video edits.
The city government intends to provide businesses with various media avenues to promote their products and services, offering free coverage and advertisements.

Four Bayambang studes win gold in research competition in Malaysia
FOUR student researchers from Bayambang National High School won a gold medal at the Innovation for Disability-Inclusive Education Competition (iDIEC) held on October 4-5 at Taylor’s University Selangor, Malaysia. The students, Ellyza Joy Junio, Jurus Cabilin, Newton Parazo, and Rich James Peroza won the gold medal for their presentation “PyCharm IDE System: American Sign Language Alphabet Transcription to Text for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Learners.” They received guidance from their advisers, Rafael Carungay and Gloria Magalong. It promotes the inclusion of deaf and hard of hearing learners in mainstream classrooms while providing a technological solution to bridge the communication gap between the hearing population and the non-hearing community.
