Egay’ leaves P224-M damage to agri, P36-M to infra

THE Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported a total of P224,324,669.29 damage to agriculture, P1,842,396 damage to livestock and P36,100,000 damage to infrastructure left by Typhoon ‘Egay’ in Pangasinan as of its August 3 report.

PDRRMO head Luchinvar Oro said in his report to Gregory Cayetano, regional director of the Office of Civil Defense-Region 1, that a total of 20 municipalities were affected in the province of Pangasinan.

Severely affected by flooding were parts of Aguilar, Alaminos City, Bautista, Bayambang, Binmaley, Bolinao, Bugallon, Calasiao, Dagupan City, Lingayen, Mabini, Malasiqui, Mangatarem, Mapandan, Rosales, San Carlos City, San Fabian, San Nicolas, Sta. Barbara and Urbiztondo.

San Roque Dam’s water level as of 5:00 a.m. of August 3 was at 259.43 meters above sea level, still 20.57 masl less from its 280 masl spilling level. The dam does not have gates open as of press time.

A total of 444 houses was partially damaged and 54 totally damaged in the province.

There were no casualties reported.

Five municipalities and one city already declared state of calamity, namely, Dagupan City, Calasiao, Sta. Barbara, Mangatarem, Binamley and Mangaldan.

A total of 3,471 families (12,670 individuals) received relief goods inside and outside evacuation centers. (Eva Visperas)
