Prices of white onion, garlic spiral anew

THE price of white onion has peaked at P140 to P150 per kilo (from P120 to P130) while  the price of garlic in the San Carlos City Market is already P140 per kilo.

But consumers have no choice but to buy whatever is in the market because these are essential condiments to their food preparation. This was learned by IFM Radio Dagupan in its recent price survey at the public markets in San Carlos City.

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist said the reason for the increase in the prices of white onion and garlic is the short supply of the commodities in Pangasinan. It is said while there is a limited supply of white onion in Pangasinan, garlic can still be sourced from the other provinces.
