Malasiqui launches online tax, fees platform
RESIDENTS of Malasiqui town will no longer have to wait in long queues in the town hall for their real property tax and business permit.
The Malasiqui local government launched its online service platform last Thursday, June 08.
Mayor Noel Anthony Geslani said the town partnered with the Land Bank of the Philippines and Lexsys Technologies Inc. – a Quezon City-based Information and Communications Technology (ICT) provider, for the e-service, aimed to making registration and tax payment convenient.
Marietta Dacanay, CEO of Lexsys Technologies, said the online service platform will help increase the local government’s revenue, as the convenience offered will attract more businesses in town.
“Mas mapapabilis na rin ang proseso ng payment, registration, at renewal ng mga negosyo”, she told the media. “The online service will also provide easier and more transparent calculation in the payment of taxes,” she added.
Meanwhile, Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) will assist with the information dissemination to further educate Malasiqui residents on the features of the online service.
Payments can be made via GCash, PayMaya, and other digital payment platforms, with a minimum convenience fee.
Despite the launching of the online service platform, the Malasiqui LGU assured that they will still continue to receive and entertain walk-in transactions in their offices.
The launching of the LGU’s online service is in accordance with the Republic Act 11032, otherwise known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
In Pangasinan, Malasiqui has pioneered the launch and use of said online service platform. (Ahikam Pasion)
