Rainy days bane to Dagupan river commuters
THE rainy season brought untold sufferings to commuters of passenger motorboats plying from the city’s island barangays to downtown Dagupan in the mainland.
But notwithstanding the rains, residents of the island barangays have no choice but ride motorboats in order to report for work, attend classes, buy food and goods, and to seek medical help.
The motorboat is the most convenient transportation available to residents of Lomboy, Salapingao, Pugaro, Calmay and Carael.
However, Calmay, Carael and Pugaro including the later’s Sitio Suit can still be accessed by land through Binmaley town, that many are reluctant to take because travel time is longer.
