REVIVING SEAFOOD PROCESSING PLANT

AN agreement for Dagupan City to co-manage the Philippines-South Korean Seafood Processing Plant in Bonuan Binloc with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) is foreseen after officials of the Sarangani Bay Alsons Aquaculture Corporation and other fish processors expressed keen to revive and make the Seafood Processing Plant located at the National Integrated Fisheries Technology Development Center (NIFTDC) operational.

Mayor Belen Fernandez said Dagupan is open to work with private partners, and the offer of Sarangani Bay Corp. to help develop the facility will be a big boost to the bangus industry of Dagupan.

Once the co-management agreement is signed, Dagupan and BFAR will share the expenses in operating the Seafood Processing Plant and equally share in the profit. (Leonardo Micua)
