Decal regulatory stickers for jeepneys, tricycles in Dagupan 

DRIVERS and owners of passenger jeepneys trooped to the Public Order and Safety Office for the installation of decal regulatory stickers to Public Utility Jeepneys plying all the roads of Dagupan City.

POSO said the free stickers will be issued to owners and drivers of passenger jeepeneys  upon submission of their complete documents and deadline for installation is March 30 and warned that units without regulatory stickers will not be allowed to ply routes in Dagupan.

Meanwhile, POSO announced that up to 1,200 passenger tricycles have already been issued with regulatory stickers. Those colorum tricycles without stickers will not be allowed to operate in the city. (Rona Racca)

Pangasinan benchmarking Iloilo province

OFFICIALS of Pangasinan recently visited the province of Iloilo in a first benchmarking activity done during the administration of Gov. Ramon Guico III.

Vice Governor Mark Lambino told IFM Radio that Pangasinan officials made a courtesy call on Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr., Vice Governor Christine Garin, and Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Trenas and his delegation was informed of the best practices implemented by Iloilo for the past 11 years to improve their province, and in Iloilo City.

Presentations by different department showed the strategies implemented so that Iloilo can reach its present status as a province today.

Lambino said they visited Iloilo because Iloilo and Pangasinan have similarities, not only in geography but also in their agricultural products so it was useful to benchmark Iloilo’s upgrading of its airport, construction of function projects, implementation of its economic development project as well as in improving its tourism industry, construction of infra projects, education and the cleaning of it rivers.

The province of Iloilo, he said, is a good role model for Pangasinan. (Jhon Caranto)

Calasiao regularly checks price monitoring

LGU Calasiao conducted price monitoring and checking on all the goods and products being sold at the Calasiao Public Market.

The  Market Division Office of Calasiao said it is conducting this activity once a week in order to protect buyers and consumers from overpricing by local traders.

The price monitoring and checking were done in collaboration with the Department of  Trade and Industry and staff of the Municipal Agriculture Office of Calasiao.
In a talk to vendors by IFM Dagupan, they welcomed   regular price monitoring and checking so that overpricing can be avoided by anyone among them and will result in more buyers coming to the public market. (Jhon Caranto)

Bayambang being benchmarked by NEDA 

THE central office  and Regional Development Group of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) conducted a consultation visit in Bayambang to benchmark its economy in the barangay level.

The visit was in connection with the need to put up a plan that could support NEDA’s national mid-term and long- term goal of “Matatag, maginhawa at Panatag na Buhay” under Plan 2040 with the title “Ambisyon Natin 2040“.

For this purpose, Bayambang officials brought the visitors to the production and processing areas of various products in the town located at the Food Innovation Center of  Pangasinan State University-Bayambang Campus. (Lyka de Guzman)

Mangaldan’s Pindang Festival successful 

MANGALDANIANS successfully celebrated this year’s Mangaldan Fiesta, particularly its Pindang Festival.

Mayor Bona De Vera said the recent fiesta was held after one-month preparation to ensure the success of the celebration, that was highlighted by “ Kalutan, Tugtugan at Sayawan ed Dalan” where residents barbecued meat, fish, vegetables and other products in 700 grills.

This year’s Mangaldan Kalutan was bigger and more exciting than the previous when only 200 grills were used.

The Pindang Fesival showcased the town’s One-Town, One Product, “pindang”, made from delicious and preserved carabao’s meat.

LGU Mangaldan thanked Mangaldan residents and from adjacent towns for joining in making the Mangaldan Fiesta truly successful. (Jhon Caranto)
