Boost tourism with ‘beach cleaner’ – Rep. Cojuangco

WHAT better way is there to welcome visitors this summer to the province’s fabulous beaches than to have speckless clean beaches. And Second District Rep. Mark Cojuangco thinks it can be done with his newly purchased beach cleaner machine!

He said local tourists need not go to beaches in La Union and Zambales because the beaches in two coastal towns, Lingayen and Binmaley, can be as clean with the use of his beach cleaner machine that can clear the sand of cigarette butts litter, bottle caps and other debris.

“It is important to invest in this kind of equipment for faster and efficient beach clean-up drives,” Cojuangco said in a Facebook post showing him in a video how the machine works.

By maintaining a clean beach, it will pave the way to further boost tourism in the Second District.

While his beach cleaner machine will be used initially to clean the 12-kilometer long shoreline of Lingayen -Binmaley, he said he is willing to lend it as well to the Department of Public Works and Highway and other towns to preserve the natural resources in the area given some conditions – to provide the tractor to pull it and to pay to for the machine’s operations, i.e, driver and fuel.

Cojuangco is hoping Tourism Secretary Cristina Garcia Frasco will also consider using the equipment by providing for the operation of the machine. (Eva Visperas)
