SSS tells delinquent employers: Avail of condonation program
THE Social Security System (SSS) is still giving delinquent employers a chance to apply and avail of a condonation program to avoid paying penalties and suffer the consequences.
Dindo Fernandez, Social Security Officer III of SSS Dagupan City Branch, said SSS has the Contribution Penalty Condonation, Delinquency Management and Restructuring Program (CPCoDe MRP) established in September 2022 that they can avail of.
Fernandez said the CPCoDe MRP waives penalties, as long as they pay their obligations.
The program was made to assist employers who were unable to pay their obligations due to the COVID -19 pandemic and other disasters and difficulties
Among the qualified for said program are businesses with single proprietorship, partnership, cooperative, association, and corporation, who are unable to pay contributions and penalties, provided they were unable to do so under economic crisis, bankruptcy, man-made and/or disasters, and other factors not induced by the employer.
Under the said program, employers may choose to pay in full or in installment basis, with the length based on the total amount of delinquency. For more information, Fernandez urged delinquent employers to proceed to the nearest SSS Branch near them. (Ahikam Pasion)
