Bolinao logs 643k tourist arrivals in 2022

BOLINAO town recorded 643,000 tourists that visited the town in 2022, as pandemic restrictions began to ease, more than double its 310,589 visitors in 2021.

Mary de Guzman, the town’s tourism officer, said 181,934 (28%) of visitors stayed in accredited accommodation establishments, while the remaining 461,851 visitors were considered “day tourists” and 2,923 tourists were foreign nationals, while 540,862 were domestic tourists.

The months of April and May peaked the tourist logs with 109,413, and 94,959 arrivals respectively.

The Bolinao Falls 1, 2, and 3 remain the top tourist spots with 141,846 visitors logged, while the Balingasay River had 99,971.

Among the top attractions are the Boliano Lighthouse, Patar White Sand Beach, Bolinao Caves, Camp Puor, Hidden Spring, Dragon Hill, Virgin River Resort, and River Village Resort.

Meanwhile, Bolinao’s local government has begun preparing for the Ballayon Arts Festival and Mangunguna Festival, both set to make a comeback this year.

Ballayon Arts Festival, featuring artists, workshops, exhibits, and competitions, will be held this February while the Mangunguna Festival is set on April 19 to 21.  (Ahikam Pasion)
