THE Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP), in a special session called by Mayor Belen Fernandez on December 29, passed an ordinance approving a supplemental budget No. 3 to pay for the one-time gratuity incentive for 1,013 job order employees and contract service employees of the Dagupan City government.

Also passed by the SP was a resolution approving the Supplemental Annual Investment program for the measure.

Jessa Royapa, city budget officer, said the beneficiaries workers in departments and units of the city government, 35 are in the City Mayor and 86 in the SP will receive P5,000 each as gratuity but the amount that they will receive will be prorated depending on their length of service in the city government.

The total amount for gratuity incentive is P5,065 million and was sourced from 2022 realigned capital outlays of various offices.

The SP, however, asked the office of the mayor to submit the list of employees to receive the gratuity incentive before the incentives are released.

Meanwhile, the SP rejected the earlier submitted Supplemental Budget No. 1 and its supplemental AIP No. 1 by virtue of the committee report submitted to the chamber by the seven-man majority.

No session was held by the SP on the first Tuesday of the year 2023 on January 3. (Leonardo Micua)
