Alaminos City Community College to open soon

By January 22, 2023Business

THE city government of Alaminos will soon open and operate its own educational institute, the Alaminos City Community College (ACCC).

First District Rep. Art Celeste, in an interview, said ACCC will initially offer three courses: midwifery, criminology, and agriculture and will accommodate 500 students initially for the three courses.

Celeste said the ACCC may be opened within six months, or in time for the opening of the 2023-2024 academic year since the college building is already in place. He added that a renovation and repairs are taking place.

The campus also received a green light from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) having complied with its requirements.

Funding for the community college will come from the city government and the office of the District Representative.

ACCC will be a boon to the growing student population in the city since the three courses are not offered at the Alaminos Campus of the Pangasinan State University.

The city’s youth move to Dagupan City or La Union to be enrolled in any of the three courses. (Ahikam Pasion)
