Infanta fishermen continues being harassed in WPS
FISHERMEN in Infanta continue to be harassed by the Chinese Coast Guard each time they attempt to fish in the Scarborough Shoal in the West Philippine Sea.
This was revealed by Fernando Hicap, president of Pamalakaya Pilipinas, in a recent exclusive interview by 104.7 IFM Dagupan.
As a result of the continuous harassment by the Chinese Coast Guard, local fishermen are deprived of the opportunity to catch bigger and more fish.
Hicap expressed hope that the United Nations can already intervene and compel China to honor the ruling obtained by the country from the International Arbitral Court in The Hague, Netherlands.
He said until local fishermen can freely fish in the contested area without the Chinese Coast Guard, their livelihood continues to be threatened. (Badz Agtalao)
