LTMS portal will not be abolished – LTO
THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) clarified that it is not abolishing the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) online portal contrary to posts going viral and circulating in social media.
Atty. Teofilo Guadiz III, LTO Chief, said the system is being reviewed to protect the integrity of the Comprehensive Driver’s Education (CDE) online validation exam that has been hacked by fixers, offering fees to pass the test without any effort, including passing it with perfect score.
“Wala sa plano ng LTO na buwagin po ang LTMS”, said Guadiz.
Guadiz ordered the formation of a technical working group (TWG) to correct glitches but not limited to falsification of certificates issued by driving schools for new license applicants.
An added security feature will include facial recognition feature of applicants.
However, vehicle owners, however, continue to be skeptical of the LTO’s move.
Ryan, a car owner from Malasiqui, said no matter how many changes or improvements the LTO would make on their goal to eradicate corruption, fixers will always creep their way, as long as fixers have ‘contacts’ within the offices. (Ahikam Pasion)
