Golden rice to be promoted in Pangasinan
THE Golden Rice will be promoted for planting in Pangasinan soon, according to Vice Governor Mark Lambino.
Lambino attended a meeting of farmers and other stakeholders in Lingayen that discussed the possible introduction of the Golden Rice variety in Pangasinan.
The meeting sought to help local farmers produce Golden Rice, a nutritious rice variety, in their farms.
Towards this end, Lambino said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan is preparing a resolution authorizing Gov. Ramon Guico III to sign a memorandum of agreement with Department of Agriculture-PhilRice in Batac City, Ilocos Norte for the transfer of technology for the production of Golden Rice.
