Cheaper inorganic fertilizer in San Nicolas
THE San Nicolas municipal government launched Inorganic Fertilizer Discounted Scheme, a novel program to enable farmers in the town to buy cheaper inorganic fertilizers they can use on their farms.
The program was conceived by the municipal government to benefit local farmers, especially the poor. Under the program, registered farmers can buy Swire Red Urea (46-0-0) for only P1,800 per 50 kilogram bag, said Municipal Agriculturist Adonis Banaga.
Banaga said the municipal government believes there is hope in farming and it should be instilled in the minds of the younger generations so that they and their children and their children’s children will continue to tend their farms in San Nicolas.
He said the proceeds in the sale of cheap fertilizer will be used to buy additional fertilizers that will be sold to other farmers. (104.7 IFM-Dagupan)
